Shilpa Reddy inaugurates Aakruthi Vastra at N Convention, Hyderabad

Crafts Council of Andhra Pradesh

Affiliated to Crafts Council of India and World Craft Council Crafts Council of Andhra Pradesh unfolds a melange of indian crafts and handlooms. The exhibition displays fascinating and alluring collections of saris,apparels, bags, crafts and lots more. The expo is on the 8th and 9th of January 2014 from 10 AM - 8PM at N Convention, Madhapur, Hyderabad.

Aakruthi Vastra

It is well known that India has a rich tradition of textiles, particularly handlooms. This myriad textile heritage of India comes alive in an exhibition Aakruthi Vastra January - 2014 organised by the Crafts Council of Andhra Pradesh on January 8th and 9th 2014. The exhibition showcases exquisite sarees,dresses ,bags and crafts by designers and craftsmen and weavers from different parts of the country. The Crafts Council of Andhra Pradesh is a non-profit organization which has been revitalizing craft, embroidery and weaving traditions with design and colour inputs to craftsmen and weavers in sync with today's times. In order to support craftsmen and run welfare schemes for them exhibition like Aakruthi Vastra are held bi-annually every year.

This year will also witness the convergence of many known names from the textile and crafts field. On display are silver tribal jewellery,embroidered blouse pieces,organic cotton products.

ETHICUS will showcase organic cotton products made by skilled artisans using centuries old weaving techniques. The cotton is sourced from small and marginal farmers with shortest carbon print. A collection of contemporary saris which reflect the exquisite handmade tiles of Attangudi

MAHAU SARKAR will display silver tribal jewellery, handloom traditional saris using vegetable dyes which shun anykind of synthetic process and also embroidered blouse pieces in khadi a.myrah will exhibit fine textiles using natural fibres like cotton, silk ,linen using high quality traditional techniques.

MURA COLLECTIVE, a craft based organization with focus on handloom weaving, natural dyes,ikat weaving and shibori with a objective of creating workplace environment for special persons, those with mental challenges as well as marginalized groups like women will bring their exclusive range of saris, duppattas and stoles.
