Darsaka Rathna Dasari Narayana Rao Passes Away

Veteran Telugu film director, producer, actor and former Minister Dasari Narayana Rao passed away on Tuesday in Hyderabad after prolonged illness. Dasari Narayana Rao was admitted to the KIMS hospital in Hyderabad on January 29 after he complained of respiratory problems. He was later discharged from the hospital after treatment. Since then, his health continued to deteriorate. He was 75.

He had undergone gastric balloon surgery three days ago. Subsequent to the surgery, several internal organs were fund infected. Since Tuesday morning, heavy fluctuations were noticed in his blood pressure and sugar levels.

Dasari Narayana Rao is survived by two sons and a daughter. His wife Padma died in 2011. The National Award winning filmmaker directed over 151 films and produced 53 films. He holds Limca World Record for directing the most number of films. The former MP received two National Awards, nine state Nandi Awards and four Filmfare Awards South.

Some of the best films include ‘Premabhishekam’, ‘Meghasandesham’, ‘Osey Ramulamma’ and ‘Thata Manavadu’ among others. He received Nandi Award for his debut film ‘Thata Manavadu’. He was congress MP in Rajya Sabha in 2006. He also became Minister of State for coal.

Dasari Narayana Rao’s sad demise comes to a huge shocker to people and celebs from politics and film industry. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana Chief Minister KCR expressed shock over the death of Dasari Narayana Rao.

Tollywood people and Dasari Narayana Rao’s fans and well-wishers condoled his death on social networking sites.

All movie theaters and movie shoots in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states have been called off on Wednesday as a sign of mourning for Dasari Narayana Rao’s death.
