Veteran producer Tammareddy Krishna Murthy is no more

Veteran producer Tammareddy (Gopala) Krishna Murthy of Ravindra Arts banner passed away on Monday morning at 8.30 AM at his residence in Hyderabad. He was 93. Krishna Murthy is survied by his wife and two sons – elder son director Tammareddy Lenin Babu (died in 1997) and younger son director cum producer Tammareddy Bharadwaja. Born on October 4, 1920, in a small village called Chinapaalaparru in Krishna district, Krishna Murthy produced around 13 films in Telugu and Tamil languages and received the prestigious Raghupathi Venkaiah Award in 2007. A few of his memorable films are ‘Zamindaar’ with ANR, ‘Bangaru Gajulu’, ‘Dr Babu’, ‘Sisindri Chittibabu’, ‘Dharma Daata’, ‘Chinna Nati Kalalu’, ‘Iddaru Kodukulu, ‘Love Marriage’, ‘Dattaputrudu’ and ‘Amma Nanna’. He also played a key role in establishing Saradhi Studios in Hyderabad. Apart from film industry, he also offered his services to the society as a communist leader.

Several senior film personalities like Ramanaidu, C Narayana Reddy, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Lok Satta President Jayaprakash Narayana, CPM State Secretary B V Raghavulu, State Minister Ponnala Lakshmayya, CPI State Secretary Narayana and several other big wigs paid homage to veteran producer.
