On October 13, ticket prices in multiplexes were extremely low. PVR-INOX, Cinepolis, Movie Time, Miraj and other multiplex chains in the country brought down the prices to celebrate the National Cinema Day.

Films like 'Mission Raniganj' in Hindi and 'MAD' in Telugu saw increased viewership owing to the offer.

About sixty lakh Indians watched movies in multiplexes, which is the biggest record in the history of Indian cinema.

If ticket prices are as low as Rs 99 or Rs 112, millions will watch movies in theatres every month. But such low prices will not be sustainable. The audience can only have free lunches only on special occasions.
