Annapurna studios, on the 25th of March, also saw the launch of Pawan Kalyan's Satyagrahi(the other film being Prabhas's Munna). At this high profile muhurat, attended by Venkatesh, V.V. Vinayak, Allu Arjun and Nithin, Dasari Narayana Rao was the chief guest. He also sounded the clapboard while Allu Arvind switched on the camera. "Satyame Naa Ayudham" is the tagline for this film, for which hero Pawan Kalyan will be donning the director's cap for the second time. This is the first high profile launch for any of Pawan Kalyan's films so far.

Pawan Kalyan spoke at length about this film and made an impressive and well received opening when he addressed his fans as "Dear brothers". He said "I always thought that my work should speak for myself but the subject of this film demands this kind of huge publicity. Satyagrahi film questions the atrocities in the society. I am doing the role of a student union leader. Politics has a lot of influence on our country's social and economic status. And I had my first taste of it when I was in 7th standard and was asked to vote in my school for a guy, who used to actually bash up people, in the name of politics. I have faced many such situations since. Though I wanted to do something about this frustrating situation in society I was helpless. In my own way, with songs like Ye Mera Jahan (Kushi) and Le le (Gudumba Shankar) I was able to highlight the atrocities of society. This is the first time I am doing a film on the social situation in our country but it will not be a documentary style movie. It will be a commercial movie that will be liked by one and all. And this also the reason why I chose A.M.Ratnam as my producer for this film, because he has already made very good films on social awareness". Speaking about his family members he said "Allu Arvind is one person who makes me feel guilty every time I look at him as I am very much indebted to him. I am also happy to see Chiranjeevi's brothers (fans) here. He is in Chennai now and that is why he was not able to make it here today. My introvert attitude makes my brother Chiranjeevi feel a little uncomfortable. Jai Chiranjeevi! Jai Hind!!".

Allu Arvind said "I knew seven years ago that some time in the future Pawan Kalyan will make a movie about social awareness. I have personally seen the anguish that he went through when he was not able to fight the atrocities in the society. I am happy that he is finally going to convert his thoughts onto celluloid via 'Satyagrahi'".

"If Bharateeyudu and Oke Okkadu exposed corruption and politics respectively, 'Satyagrahi' talks about social awareness. The film will be made simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi and will also be dubbed in Bengali. We have used leaders like Che and Jaya Prakash in our posters as they have selflessly served the society" said producer A.M.Rathnam. Speaking about Pawan Kalyan he continued "After 'Kushi', which is Pawan Kalyan's biggest commercial hit so far, we wanted to work together but were waiting for the right kind of subject. During the climax shoot of 'Bangaram' he narrated the subject of 'Satyagrahi' to me. Pawan Kalyan liked the work of Dharani after he watched his Tamil films, 'Dil' and 'Dhool' and asked Dharani to narrate a script to him".

Chief Guest Dasari Narayana Rao also spoke and wished that Pawan Kalyan will be able to prove himself as a director with this film and also wished for the films success.

Venkatesh, a good friend of Pawan Kalyan's, also wished for the film's success.

V.V. Vinayak expressing a wish to direct Pawan Kalyan, said "Pawan Kalyan is known for thinking differently. The photos of Che and Jaya Prakash Narayan on the poster demonstrate that fact".
