Desadrohi Muhurat

It is interesting to watch Namitha in a cop dress, isn't it! The film ‘Desadrohi’ was today launched in Annapurna Studios. For the muhurat shot Gopinatha Reddy tapped the clapboard, KS Rama Rao switched on the camera and KS Nageswara Rao did the direction.

Speaking to the media Namitha said, “So far everyone saw me only in glamorous roles and now I want to do something different. This is the first time I’m portraying the role of a police officer. I’ve seen many Vijaya Shanti’s films, therefore I did lot of homework in which I also decided not to be influenced by her. I’ve taken enough care to reduce my weight. With strict diet and yoga I shed 7 kgs of weight within few weeks. Now, I’m undergoing training to do stunts on my own.

“This film would be a mile stone for Namitha in her film career. So far she has done many glamorous roles but in this film she will not be shown in an exposing manner as the film is being made for the social cause. In the end the audience will not leave the theaters without carrying the message. Santhi Chandra is playing the villain in this action flick”, said the director Nageswara Rao.

Producer Prasad informed that he is the president of Vijaya Shanti’s fan club for many years and that he produced three films for Vijaya Shanti. Vijaya Santhi stood as a best example for lady cop roles. Now Namitha is all set to replace her with this film. The film is due for August release.

‘My character in this film is a surprise package and stand as a pillar to the entire film. This is my second film after Three”, said Santhi Chandra.
