RGV’s ‘Department’ starring Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Rana Daggubati, Madhu Shalini, Manchu Lakshmi Prasanna and Natalia Kaur is all set to open in theaters worldwide tomorrow, 18th May, 2012. On this occasion the ‘Department’ team has organised a press meet at Park Hotel in Hyderabad as part of the film promotion. Ram Gopal Varma, Rana Daggubati, Natalia Kaur and Madhu Shalini participated in this press conference.

Addressing the media Ram Gopal Varma said, “I worked on the story of ‘Department’ for two years. We have seen numerous films on police department backdrop in the past. But my ‘Department’ is a little different from them. This is the story of a sincere police officer. Rana is apt for the role of police cop. Madhu Shalini and Natalia Kaur gave their best performances. I completed the film within my budget limit. I’m very satisfied without the output of the film. Now it’s the audience turn to decide on the film’s results. I love the song ‘Dhan Dhan Chenni’ amongst all.”

Rana said, “Department is my second film. I’m very happy to get the opportunity to work with great and talented director like Ram Gopal Varma. Working with him was a different experience. He portrayed me as an action hero in this film. For the first time I played the role of a strict police officer named Shivnarayana. I dubbed my own voice in this film. The audience can sense Hyderabadi slang in my Hindi. The film is sure to become a big hit.”

Madhu Shalini said, “I’m a big fan of talented director Ram Gopal Varma. I never miss to watch his films as well as his interviews. I’m very happy to get the opportunity to be part of his film. I played a powerful character in this film which I liked very much. I take this opportunity to thank Ram Gopal Varma garu for giving me a wonderful role to play in his film.”

Natalia Kaur said, “I had no clue about Ram Gopal Varma until I saw him during auditions. It’s tough to work with him but I’m impressed with the talent in him. I wish ‘Department’ to become a big hit.”
