Chinni Krishna entered the film industry a decade ago through Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Narasimha Naidu’, which was released on January 11, 2001 and created box office records. In these 10 years of his film career, Chinni Krishna penned very few scripts like ‘Narasimha Naidu’, ‘Indra’, ‘Gangotri’ and now ‘Badrinath’, but earned very good reputation. On the occasion of his birthday on Sunday, he shared some interesting aspects with the media about his film career.

Chinni Krishna said, “Actually the first film that I worked for was Rajnikanth’s ‘Padayappa’ (Narasimha in Telugu).  Rajnikanth felicitated me and Ramya Krishna by garlanding us with chains valuing Rs 2 lakhs.  Later B Gopal approached me after reading the news in the newspaper. Posani Krishna Murali was the initial script writer for Balakrishna’s movie.  But then Gopal garu wanted me to change the script and that is how the film ‘Narasimha Naidu’ was made.  The movie earned me very good name after it was released during Sankranti 2001. The storyline and Balakrishna’s characterization immensely impressed the audience and won their hearts.  I’ve a sweet memory regarding the film ‘Narasimha Naidu’.  After the film became successful, Balakrishna garu invited me and my family along with Gopal garu and Parachuri Brothers for lunch.  He presented us with traditional silk clothes (Pattu) and a gift.  I was very curious about the gift, so while returning back home, on the way I opened it to know what it was, and I was amazed to see the vintage ‘Pachala Pathakam’. (Pachala Pathakam is a kind of jewel presented to Lord Rama and Sita by Ramadas which are still preserved in the temple).  For receiving such a valuable and enduring gift from him, I would certainly present him the extra-valuable story ‘Nandeeswarudu’ for what I owe him.  It is 100 times powerful subject than ‘Narasimha Naidu’.”

Speaking about ‘Badrinath’ he said, “This is one such story that it will attract the movie lovers of any language.  The emotions in the story will touch anybody’s heart.  I prepared pakka script of ‘Badrinath’ and got ready to direct this film in 2004 only. I was to direct the film under Gopikrishna banner but later the project was shelved due to difference in opinion with the producer regarding a sequence in the story.  Had I changed the scene, I would have become a director by then, but since I believed the story I did not make changes.  After 6 years, the same script is now taking shape under the direction of VV Vinayak on Allu Aravind’s banner.”

About his 10 years of film career he said, “Making money is not my prime aim. According to me, it is not the quantity or money matters but the quality stuff that we provide. My main aim is that the audience should appreciate the stories provided by me to the directors and producers. Top film personalities like James Cameroon, Raj Kapoor, Bhagyaraj, etc., have inspired me to do quality films.  Hence I did just 4 films in these 10 years.”

Revealing his life time ambition he said, “It was my life time amtbition to do a film with Aamir Khan with a script that would break the box office records of '3 Idiots' and also win an Oscar award.  Very soon I’m going to narrate the script to him.”

Ragalahari wishes this ambitious writer 'A Happy Birthday and A Bright New Year Too'!!!
