If it was Teja who introduced this gorgeous and owner of sweet smile and beautiful eyes Kajal Agarwal in ‘Lakshmi Kalyanam’ four years ago, it is Krishna Vamsi who gave her the right break by casting her in ‘Chandamama’. ‘Chandamama’ turned the fortunes of Kajal and today she has become one of the busiest stars in Tollywood. Now with ‘Magadheera’ casting opposite Ram Charan Teja she is going to guage her star status in just a couple of days. This Punjabi beauty has shared her views regarding the working experience with director SS Rajamouli and her hero Ram Charan Teja in ‘Magadheera’. A few excerpts:

How do you feel working in ‘Magadheera’?
I must first thank God for this opportunity.  ‘Magadheera’ happened to me unexpectedly. This is one of the best opportunities to prove myself as an actress.  For the first time I played dual role and both characters have a lot to emote. It is a thrilling experience to say, as I use to play the princess one day and the very next day a modern girl.

What is the specialty of the two roles you played?
It is known to all that the film is a love story on rebirth concept. The first character is the princess whose name is Mitrabrinda while the second character Indhu belongs to the modern age, i.e., after the re-birth of princess. She is a fashion designer.  Since both characters belong to different ages, right from my costumes, body language, dialogues etc., has lots of contrast.

You have not done any mythological roles before.  Then how did you manage to portray the princess role?
Yes! I took training in horse riding and sword fighting for the princess role. In some of the scenes without a single dialogue I needed to express through my eyes.  Rajamouli sir would never okay the scene until he felt that I gave the right kind of expression.

Is there any horse riding and sword fighting scenes for you too?
As I said before one of characters in the film is princess and one has to watch the film to really understand the context.

How was it doing these scenes?
I use to feel as if I have gone back to hundreds of years ago.  This movie is a very special one for me and the shooting experiences are the most unforgettable ones in my life.

Your working experience with Ram Charan Teja?
He is an amazing co-star. His performance, fights and dances are simply superb. It was a great experience while shooting the horse riding scenes.

Of late we are finding you working with all young heroes.  Do you call it as luck or your hard work?
I believe in hard work but all that matters till you make an entry into films. After that one’s success lies on luck along with hard work. If one is fortunate enough good opportunities will knock their doors automatically.

Can you share the secret behind your beauty?
(Smiles) I do yoga when time permits. According to me we should eat good food at right time and have enough sleep and we must also have a pleasant mind.  Of course we need to work when required. But ‘Magadheera’ shooting schedules were so tight that sometimes I use to work 14 hours per day.  Apart from that it used to take few hours to do the make-up.

Are you planning to go to Bollywood?
To tell frankly, not so early.  I even got a couple of offers but I rejected them because I did not like the stories. Right now I’m busy with handful of projects in Telugu and Tamil. So once I complete all these projects and become free then I may think of Bollywood. My Tamil film ‘Modhi Vilayadu’ has just released and ‘Magadheera’ is going to release shortly.

We learnt that your sister is making her entry into films.
(With a big smile) Yeah! Very soon she is going to make her debut. She is just waiting for the right project to come.
