Manchu Vishnu on Saturday took the oath as the President of MAA. Speaking on the occasion, he sounded statesmanly.
Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav said, "Vishnu is young. He is an eager person. I knew that he was going to win the election. Tollywood has seen the likes of NTR, ANR, Shoban Babu, Krishna, Krishnam Raju, Mohan Babu, Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna and later the likes of Pawan Kalyan. Mohan Babu garu is short-tempered, but he has never hurt anyone. He calls a spade a spade. He is a well-meaning person. He has taught self-discipline to his son."
Mohan Babu said, "While some artists may be in politics, MAA is an apolitical organization. We are all the sons of the same mother. MAA members can never be threatened. Film offers come to artists not because someone shows favour. They come if you have talent and discipline. I speak my heart out. I am glad that MAA members have elected my son. It's a blessing. I and my son are going to call on KCR garu as a courtesy call. MAA Presidenship is not a small job. It's a huge responsibility." Mohan Babu said that Naresh played a role in his son's victory.
Naresh said, "Female and young voters have voted us big. They liked our manifesto. From today, we will talk about negative aspects internally. And positive talk will be done publicly. Vishnu has won with a majority of 106 votes. His mandate must be respected by one and all."
Producer C Kalyan said that it would have been great had Dasari Narayana Rao been alive.
Manchu Vishnu said, "I thank everyone for ensuring my victory. I will show what I am capable of in the next two years. I need the cooperation of all 24 crafts. When you play a game, there is a victor, there is a loser. The other side must respect the mandate. Some of them (referring to the Prakash Raj panel) have resigned from MAA. It's unfortunate."
