The Annafesta Grand Finale at St. Ann's Junior College for Girls, Hyderabad

The Annafesta grand finale that brought the curtain down on Christmas and cultural fiesta was a gala affair. The day started with prayer, carols and a skit titled “Heart of Christmas”. With the nativity skit behind them the students could not wait to let their hair down by jiving and grooving to the latest Bollywood hits. This was followed by “Bollywood Buzz”; a group of students highlighting the contrasts between the songs and dances of yore and now. This brought the entire audience to their feet. Students who had won prizes in regional dress competition came on stage to display their costumes. The whole atmosphere was very festive and jolly, in keeping with the season. Stalls selling food, accessories, clothes and games stalls too did brisk business. The surprise was in the tail so to speak. Just as the students thought that the whole celebrations had wound down, a group of students emerged out of nowhere to perform a dance, popular as ‘flash mob’ these days. That brought an end to the celebration. The college will reopen on 2nd January, 2015.
