Kuchipudi dance drama presented by Guru. Smt. Deepika story of the celestial couple Shiva and Parvathi. This ballet brings to the fore Tandava and Lasya aspects of dance, where one gets to appreciate nuances of male and female energies of the Lord of dance Shiva and his consort Parvathi.

Shiva and Dakshayani are blissfully dancing at their abode Kailasa when Naarada comes and informs Dakshayani that her father is performing a Yagna to which all the deities are invited. Despite Shiva advising her not to go, Dakshayani ignores his advice and goes to the Yagna. Her father denigrates Shiva and insults Dakshayani. Unable to bear her father’s slight she immolates herself. This angers Shiva and he sends Veerabhadra'to destroy the Yagna and quash the pride of Daksha.

An aggrieved Shiva goes to the Himalayas to do penance. Meanwhile, Dakshayani reincarnates as Himavantha’s daughter, Parvathi. Parvathi is in awe of Shiva and is relentless, in ardently worshipping him. Manmada attempts to unify Shiva and Parvathi. Shiva is upset with Manmada disturbing his penance and immolates him. On the plea of Manmada’s wife Rathi, Shiva resurrects Manmada. The ballet concludes with the celestial wedding of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi.
