Weaving Magic at Taj Deccan

The Taj Deccan is all set to showcase an exceptionally enriching fashion event Weaving Magic at its main lawns this Saturday.

Taj Deccan in its endeavor to provide sustainable living opportunities to weavers and to honor the vision of the Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces has come forward to partner with Lyra a fashion house that works towards the upliftment of weavers. Weaving Magic is an ongoing effort to promote weavers and provide them with an equal platform to gain recognition worldwide.

A decade ago Ravita Mayor created her own label Cocoon, which was part of all the ffolio designer stores in India, and Glitterati. As a designer, she has showcased her creations across the world from Washington & London to various cities in India, including at the Darpana Academy of Performing Arts. Weaving Magic will be another fashion event showcasing Ravita's versatility of designs using weaves and textiles sourced from looms across the country.

Eminent choreographer Prasad Bidappa has styled the event with leading models walking the ramp including Manasvi Mamgai, Miss India World (2010). The fashion show will be followed by a musical performance featuring well-known percussionist Jonque.
