National President Cr Masuma Vagh,Ladies Circle India has launched a year long campaign with an NGO called Hair for Hope which helps the cancer patients by donating hair that would in turn be weaved into wigs.
This initiative aims at encouraging the community at large to come together and unite in the fight against cancer by donating a part of their hair.
Hair loss is often one of the most distressing side effects and lowers the self-esteem of sufferers, making them withdraw into a shell! But a wig with natural hair is very expensive. So instead of throwing away hair one could donate that hair and actually bring a smile to a chemo patient.
Speaking on the occasion CP Shweta Tibrewala of SCLC 35 also the National Publicity Convenor Of Ladies Circle India said 11 The idea behind the project is not really the donation but to show our support to women who are fighting Cancer..
The aim is to sensitize the society to grow their hair and contribute a part of it to improve the quality of life of the cancer patients. .It’s overwhelming to see all the ladies here coming forward to show their immense support towards Hair for Hope campaign.
She thanked Ashton Perriera for their support towards this project. The event took place in the presence of National President of Ladies Circle India, Cr Masuma Vagh
The event saw a massive enthusiasm from many women, who came forward to donate their hair and even go bald and bring smiles to cancer patients. Two Women went bald and donated their hairs for the cause.
Protect your Mom campaign in association with Ladies Circle Hyderabad initiated a PYM event to create awareness about breast cancer at Ashton Pierre, Banjara Hills on 25th October. October is the month for creating awareness about breast cancer and Protect your Mom campaign is a global campaign created by Ms Premi Mathew from Kerala .
If students can pester their Moms for iphones and ipads why can’t they pester them to keep themselves safe from breast cancer? Early detection is crucial since once cancer spreads it could be fatal. Ideally a mammogram has to be done every year after the age of 40 to detect breast cancer early but even a simple self exam could help detect cancer early.70,000 ladies die in India alone just because they find breast cancer too late! 1/8 women are at risk.
CP. Shweta Tibrewala along with her circlers took a pledge of asking her mom to go for a regular check-up/mammogram besides herself took a pledge to go for a check-up.
About Ladies Circle India: Ladies Circle India is a non political organization committed to carrying out meaningful charity projects in the field of education, environment, welfare of women, rural upliftment, sanitation & health awareness all around India.
