Chiranjeevi visits Film Nagar Temple

Central Tourism Minister Padmabhushan Dr Chiranjeevi visited the Hanuman temple at Film Nagar this evening (November 16th). He along with his wife Surekha was welcomed by MAA President Murali Mohan and producer V B Rajendra Prasad. The couple performed special puja to Lord Hanuman after which they were felicitated by Murali Mohan and V B Rajendra Prasad.
Later speaking to the media Chiranjeevi said, “I wanted to come to this temple and take the blessings of the Lord soon after I took oath as a Central Minister. However time did not permit me to do so. I’ve a special love for this temple because I’m one among those who are involved in the construction of this temple. So whenever I visit this temple it gives an unknown happiness. Even today I feel bad for not getting the opportunity to act in Rajendra Prasad’s films. He used to respect me a lot even when I was not a star. He made me tap the clap board for the debut film of his son Jagapathi Babu. His love and affection for me is the same right from those days. I feel energetic and satisfied for having received the honor from him.”
About Murali Mohan he said, “Murali Mohan played a key role in my growth as an actor. Being a big hero himself, he would always appreciate me and treat me as his own brother. Of late he is addressing me as garu and sir which I feel a little inconvenient. I wish to have the same kind of association even now. I consider the ministership as a great responsibility. I promise to do the best to the industry people whenever required either by the influence of ministership or personally depending upon the situation. Recently we have discussed with the Chief Minister about the vat problem and he declared that only 3% vat will be charged on the films. The removal of tax was also implemented on the producers who were supposed to pay taxes for the past few years. I was very satisfied for rendering this help to the industry.”
When asked about his 150th film he replied, “It’s difficult to say whether I’ll able to do my 150th film at this juncture after taking up the new responsibility. However I would certainly try to do the film by taking permission from the high command provided I come across a good message oriented film which would be useful to the party and people.
V B Rajendra Prasad said,”We are very happy that Chiranjeevi garu visited this temple after accepting the responsibility of Central Minister. Our blessings will always remain with him. He has rendered several services to the film industry as an actor. I hope he will serve as a Minister too.”
Murali Mohan said, “We are all very proud of Chiranjeevi garu for his self-growth in the film industry and becoming the Central Minister after stepping into politics. I wish him to climb up the ladder step by step in politics as well.”
