Giribabu gets Doctorate

Veteran actor Giribabu acted in more than 550 films (altogether in Telugu and Tamil) in his 38 years of film journey. He also earned a special image and remained in the hearts of Telugu audience. AIM Westbrook University honoured him the doctorate for his services to the film industry and to the society.

Addressing the media Giribabu said, “I received this doctorate on 14th from the Vice Chancellor Dr Satya Y Thakahashi at Country Club. And I received the certificate from the honourable chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy on 18th. The two main reasons for giving me the doctorate is my services to the film industry and my participation in the social activities. I will not take the retirement just because I got the doctorate but will act in films as long as I can.”

Raghu Babu said, “Only two persons from our Telugu film industry have received doctorate from this university. One is Krishnam Raju garu and the second is my father Giribabu. Besides acting in 550 films, he also produced 8 films. Apart from that he also took active part in social events. I’m very happy to see him getting the doctorate.”
