Taapsee to turn rifler

Taapsee Pannu, who recently impressed audience with her performance in prominent director Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Manmarziyaan’, will plunge headlong into the prep for her next ‘Womaniya’ to be directed by Anurag Kashyap. Taapsee will play a rifle shooter, along with Bhumi Pednekar, who also plays a rifle shooter. For the film, both the actresses will be undergoing extensive training in rifle shooting for their roles. According to the reports, the actors will get trained by Commonwealth Games 2018 bronze medalist Apurvi Chandela and Olympian Anjali Bhagwat.

Sources said that, Inspired by the life of real-life shooters, Prakashi and Chandro from a Tomar family, the film is set in the backdrop of rural India. The film is expected to roll by the end of January 2019. Anurag Kashyap will be co-producing the movie in association with Shibashish Sarkar and Nidhi Parmar. Tushar Hiranandani will be helming the project.
