'AWE' director Prasanth Varma has said that his upcoming zombie thriller, 'Zombie Reddy', doesn't hurt any community's sentiments. The clarification comes in the wake of many on social media criticizing the title, which comes with a caste name.

"The title has got a tremendous response. The recently-released motion poster trended nationally. We are very glad about the response. I would like to clarify that our film doesn't intend to degrade any community. The subject has nothing to do with negativity," Varma said on Thursday.

He added, "The graphics in the motion poster were worked upon for three months. The backdrop of the film is Kurnool. In Hollywood, a number of epidemic-based movies have been made."

The film's Kurnool backdrop will make the residences of the city proud, the 'Kalki' director indirectly suggested. "When a pandemic breaks out, people in Kurnool fight it and save the world," he added.
