Jyothika Saravanan, popularly known as Jyothika, was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra State , India, on 18th October 1977.
She is an Indian actress who is popular in Tamil, Kannada , Malayalam, Hindi and Telugu cinema for her roles.
Personal Life:
Jyothika's parents are Chander Sadanah and Seema Sadanah. She has two siblings named Suraj, and Roshini.
In 2006, she got married to the actor Suriya, and the pair are blessed with two children named Dev and Diya.
Career:
In 1998, with Priyadarshan's Hindi film Doli Saja Ke Rakhna, she entered Bollywood. The film flourished at the box office and also she moved to the film industry in South India.
The following year, in 1999, she made her Tamil movie debut with a film entitled Vaali. She received the Best Female Debut award for this film. Following her success in the Tamil film Kushi, she soared to stardom. She won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress-Tamil for her performance.
For the next several years, a string of hit films followed after this film, including Snegithiye, Dum Dum Dum, and Mugavaree, among numerous others.
After her success in the much-acclaimed film Chandramukhi, she became one of the most desirable-after actresses in the Tamil film industry. This was her best hit movie to date. She was cast in this film alongside the iconic Rajnikanth.
She received the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress for her role in Mozhi. In 2007, she made her Malayalam movie debut with the film Rakkilippattu.
She was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her role in the Malayalam film Seetha Kalyanam.
After some break from acting, with the Tamil film named 36 Vayadhinile in 2015, she returned back to the film industry. She earned herself a Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress-Tamil for her performance.

In 2005, Jyothika was honoured with the coveted Kalaimamani Award. She was Kollywood's most strong actress then.
