The local magistrate’s court at Elamanchili on Friday issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against screenplay writer cum director Vijayendra Prasad (also father of filmmaker SS Rajamouli) in connection with a cheque bouncing case. Producer and YSR Congress leader Chengala Venkata Rao filed a case on Vijayendra Prasad after two cheques of Rs 30 lakhs each given by the latter bounced. At the time of NTR starrer ‘Narasimhudu’ movie making, Vijayendra Prasad took an advance of Rs 60 lakhs to write a movie script. However since he could not complete the script work within the scheduled time, producer Chengala Venkata Rao demanded for the repayment of the amount and the former issued two cheques to the later a year ago which got bounced.
It may be recalled that during the last hearing, the court had imposed a fine and issued the non-bailable arrest warrant on Vijayendra Prasad for not turning up in the court.
