'Rythu Bandh', directed by People's Star R Narayana Murthy, has completed its shooting portions. It's now in the post-production phase. The makers have announced that the film will release in theatres in February.

Speaking at an event organized in Hyderabad, Murthy said that the Farm Bills that the Centre has brought out are seen by the farmers of Punjab and other States as suicidal. "Agriculture is going to be corporatized completely because of the laws. The corporates will buy the produce from farmers and will create artificial shortages by hoarding them. I urge the Centre to abolish the laws," Murthy added.

He said that most of the farmers in the country are small and marginal ones. "The FCI has been there to facilitate food security in the country. With the new laws, the market yards will collapse," he said, adding that the Swaminathan Committee recommendations should be implemented.

The filmmaker added that 'Rythu Bandh' will be about what happens when the farmers shut things down.
