'1996 Dharmapuri' is the title of an upcoming raw and realistic feature film starring Gagaan Viharri and Aparna Devi in the lead. Written and directed by Jagath, the film is all set to hit the cinemas this Friday (April 22).
The news is that the film's pre-release event was held today. Speaking on the occasion Koppula Eshwar, Minister of All Welfare Departments, BC Welfare in Telangana, said, "I was surprised when I came to know that Jagath garu was making this film. He has made the film based on true events in a realistic manner. The Dharmapuri temple has a uniqueness. There is a history behind its name. I wish the team of this film all the best."
Y Ravishankar of Mythri Movie Makers said, "The producer picked the right story and the director has executed the film very well. Gagan played a small part in 'Rangasthalam'. I am happy that he is getting introduced as a hero with this film."
Well-known director Maruthi said, "Jagath has worked as a co-director for many movies. Sekhar Master presenting 'Dharmapuri' has helped him a lot. I am sure the audience are going to feel thrilled."
Presenter Sekhar Master said, "This is a heart-touching film. The performances are quite natural. Osho Venkatesh's music is awesome."
Director Jagath said, "My journey started with 'Prasthanam'. I learned a lot working under Maruthi anna. Coming to 'Dharmapuri', the artists and technicians have worked hard in making it. Editor Marthand K Venkatesh garu supported us fully. I chose Gagan for the lead role because of his suitability."
'Akhanda' Naga Mahesh, 'Palasa' Janardhan, Keshava, Narayana Swamy, and others have got supporting roles.
