'The Kashmir Files' has turned out to be one of the most unexpected blockbusters in recent times. The Hindi film collected Rs 27 Cr (nett) in the first weekend just in India on the back of its collections seeing an exponential growth on Day 2 (Saturday) and Day 3 (Sunday).

Kangana Ranaut has hit out at her Bollywood colleagues for not endorsing the movie. Almost all superstars, with the exception of Akshay Kumar, have refrained from tweeting about the Anupam Kher-starrer that delves into the history of the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from Kashmir.

Akshay Kumar, too, has not praised the movie. He has only tweeted that he is hearing great things about Anupam Kher's performance. He hasn't watched the movie yet.

Why is Bollywood silent about 'The Kashmir Files'? The reason is simple. It has been made by Vivek Agnihotri, a filmmaker who has used the term 'Urban Naxals' to "expose" the alleged hypocrisy in Bollywood when it comes to talking about issues concerning the human rights of persecuted Hindus anywhere in the world. Agnihotri has previously also targeted sections of Bollywood media and film critics for trashing his previous film 'The Tashkent Files'.

Talking about the Bollywood universe being silent, an observer suggested that the film 'The Kashmir Files' questions the false Kashmiriyat narrative set by star writers in Bollywood over the years and that's why they are uncomfortable with the blockbuster.
