'Telusa Telusa' is the title of a song from Lakshmi Manchu's upcoming movie 'Agni Nakshatram'. The vigilante action drama also features Dr. Mohan Babu. The song, it has been revealed, has been made as a tribute to Bollywood director Rohit Shetty's style of cop movies.
"I am absolutely captivated by Rohit Shetty's masterful execution of cop films," says Lakshmi, who is known for her studied portrayals in movies such as 'Gundelo Godari'. The homage is also relevant, considering she is playing a cop in 'Agni Nakshatram'.
"The song balances social consciousness with entertainment," the makers say. The rap has been done by Deepti Reddy, one of the close friends of the actress. The choreography is by Brinda Master, while the music is by Achu Rajamani.
'Telusa Telusa' is also informed by grandeur. Luxurious and high-end cars whose value runs into as much as Rs 80 Cr are seen in the background.
As a female actor with feminist sympathies, Lakshmi has taken inspiration from some real-life cops in designing the song. Swati Lakra, and Anjali Kumar, among others, serve as an inspiration for young women.
During the making of the film, Lakshmi resorted to Yoga to keep herself calm, especially because she was also handling multiple responsibilities as a producer. "I also incorporated weight training and kickboxing into my post-shoot routine," she says.
The film is written by Diamond Ratnababu and directed by Vamsee Krishna Malla. Mollywood actor Siddiqui, Samuthirakani, Viswanth and Chitra Shukla have got different roles in the movie.
