'Baahubali' producer gets frank about 'Salaar' collections

Shobu Yarlagadda, one of the two producers of the 'Baahubali' movies, has always been vocal. Participating in a roundtable discussion, the outspoken producer suggested that 'Salaar' didn't achieve its optimal state of commercial success in Hindi.

When asked about Shah Rukh Khan scoring a huge blockbuster with 'Pathaan' and 'Jawan' despite zero participation in the publicity campaigns of the films, Shobu said, "That's because he was targeting the Hindi market, his bastion. In Telugu, Prabhas didn't need to promote 'Salaar'. But he should have promoted it in Hindi, particularly because of the clash with 'Dunki'. Had he done so, 'Salaar' would have earned better returns."

Shobu made the comments a good one week after the release of 'Salaar'. He must surely know some numbers to make an informed comment. One wonders why Prabhas didn't promote 'Salaar' extensively in Hindi.
