The trailer for 'Baby' is triggering polarized reactions. As per some audience members who are vocal on social media, the film needlessly judges women who take to fashion, roll a joint and do merry in pubs. Vaishnavi Chaitanya's character is shown to be doing all this and more in the trailer.
As per Anand Deverakonda, the audience have to wait till July 14 before they can assess the film in an objective manner. He opined that hot takes borrowed from the Woke ideology are not needed. "Maybe, you can watch the movie and then comment before jumping the gun," the 'Dorasani' and 'Middle Class Melodies' actor commented.
In the trailer, it is clearly hinted that the female lead becomes a disloyal girlfriend after she gets tempted by a certain lifestyle. A dialogue mouthed by Harsha Chemudu's character against her and girls of her type is expected to make sense in the larger context of the film, although it sounds disconcerting in the trailer. Disloyalty in a relationship is seen in a negative light by individuals across societies and cultures. 'Baby' may take a similar position at the cost of hurting some feminists.
