'2018' will be a grand success in Telugu: Makers

'2018', touted to be the real tale of Kerala, has been a massive hit in Malayalam. By grossing more than Rs 130 Cr in Malayalam, it has proved to be year 2023's newest rage. The film will be released in Telugu on May 26.

Producer Bunny Vasu is releasing the movie in Telugu. After a media screening on Wednesday, the GA2 Pictures supremo expressed confidence that the film will be a great success in the Telugu States. "The film was made after knowing the experiences of many victims who had to bear the brunt of the 2018 Kerala floods," he said.

Producer Venu Kunnappilly hoped that the Telugu audience will make his film a success. "This feature film is based on real life and will reach everyone's mind," he added.

'Ustaad Bhagat Singh' director Harish Shankar was present at the presser as a guest. He said, "Movie lovers will always support the films that tell the truth." He added that distinctions between dubbed and non-dubbed movies are blurring. "Does anybody say that 'RRR' and 'Baahubali' are dubbed movies? Did we not watch 'KGF'?" the director asked.

The film will be released in Hindi and Tamil as well soon. The Malayalam original was released in theatres on May 5.
