'Double Ismart': Worldwide release by 'HanuMan' makers but 'Liger'-time issues linger

The makers of the upcoming pan-Indian movie 'Double Ismart' have announced a collaboration with Prime Show Entertainment of 'HanuMan' fame for the movie's worldwide distribution. The film, a follow-up to the 2019 blockbuster 'iSmart Shankar', is set to hit theaters across five languages - Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam - on August 15.

This news comes amidst ongoing "unsettled issues" surrounding Puri Connects' previous movie, 'Liger'. These issues could potentially cause problems for Ram Pothineni's movie when negotiating exhibitor advances, particularly in the Nizam region, trade analysts say. Co-starring Kavya Thapar and Sanjay Dutt, the film has music by Mani Sharma.

While the film might manage to generate buzz after its Trailer is out, the shadow of Liger's difficulties looms. It remains to be seen if 'Double Ismart' can capitalize on the excitement surrounding its release or if the issues plaguing 'Liger' will have a ripple effect. Prime Show Entertainment's Niranjan Reddy recently had a release at the box office in the form of 'Darling'.
