Comedian Ali will no longer be in active politics. In a video clip, Ali says that he is going to focus on acting assignments completely from now on.

"It was in 1999 that I first forayed into politics when (late producer) D Ramanaidu garu asked me to campaign for him. He contested as an MP candidate at that time. I persisted in a political party for two decades before switching sides," Ali said.

The comedian said that he has acted in more than 1200 movies in six languages. "I floated a Trust in the name of my father. It has been in existence for the past 16 years. I have reached out to the needy every month, including during the Covid-19 period, by extending monetary help. I have always spent 20% of my earnings towards charity. Whenever I did foreign gigs, 60% of my earnings went towards charity," Ali said.

"I have never criticized anybody in politics personally. I have never talked ill about anybody's personal life. I belong to no political party now. I am just a common man. I will now focus on films from now onwards. I am now just a voter. I am bidding goodbye to politics," Ali added.
