Kamal Haasan, who established Makkal Needhi Maiam in 2018, today said that his party won't be contesting in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He has settled for a Rajya Sabha seat for his party, supported by the DMK.
Political commentators believe that MNM will be in a weaker position by 2026, the year when Tamil Nadu's Assembly elections will be held. There are enough indications to conclude that Kamal wants to focus on his film career, especially with 'Vikram' becoming a massive hit in 2022. He knows that he is not cut out for politics.
In another news, the 'Thugs Of Life' actor today handed over a cheque of Rs 1 Cr as a Trust Member of the South Indian Artistes' Association for the development of a new Nadigar Sangam building in Chennai.
