Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly, who shot to fame with 'Neram' in 2013 and followed it up with the blockbuster hit 'Premam' in 2015, was named as Accused No. 6 in a rape case. The FIR came to light in September.

The news is that the police have given him a clean chit. They stated that Pauly was not present at the scene of crime and therefore, he has been exonerated of all accusations.

The actor expressed relief after the exoneration, thanking everyone for their prayers and support.

Soon after the FIR, the actor vehemently denied all sexual assault allegations leveled against him by an unnamed woman in Kerala. The actor stated that he has never met or spoken to the woman and that the charges are completely baseless. Pauly vowed to fight the case vigorously.

Nivin, who is also a producer in Mollywood, is a recipient of two Kerala State Film Awards, three Filmfare Awards South, two Kerala Film Critics Association Awards, and six SIIMA Awards. 'Mahaveeryar', 'Padavettu', 'Saturday Night', 'Thuramukham' and 'Ramachandra Boss & Co' are his recent Malayalam movies.
