As was reported earlier today, Tamil superstar Rajinikanth is currently hospitalized in Chennai. The Apollo Hospitals management has put out a statement about the procedure undergone by the 'Jailer' actor.
"He had a swelling in the main blood vessel leaving his heart (Aorta), which was treated by a non-surgical, transcatheter method. A Senior Interventional Cardiologist placed a stent in the aorta completely sealing off the swelling (Endovascular Repair). We would like to let his well-wishers and fans know that the procedure went as planned. Mr. Rajinikanth is stable and is doing well. He should be home in two days," the hospital said.
The superstar's fans are relieved that their favourite matinee idol is doing fine.
Rajinikanth awaits the theatrical release of 'Vettaiyan' on October 10. The film, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan and others, is directed by TJ Gnanavel. He is also doing 'Coolie', a film directed by star director Lokesh Kanagaraj.
