Rs 400 Cr on 'The Raja Saab': Exaggeration or true?

'The Raja Saab', starring Prabhas in the lead, is up for a grand theatrical release on April 10, 2025. People Media Factory's TG Vishwa Prasad has claimed that the film has been made on a budget of Rs 400 Cr, sparking an online chatter that the declared budget is grossly exaggerated. Suspicions have been raised by Netizens that the makers of big-ticket films routinely inflate the budgets to fool OTT platforms and distributors.

'Baby' fame producer SKN, who is a close aide to both Prabhas and director Maruthi, refutes the suspicions. He says, "OTT platforms are not naive. They are smart. Just because a producer says that his film's budget is Rs 1,000 Cr, they are not going to pay Rs 500 Cr for digital rights. The value of an OTT deal depends on who is the hero, the amount of craze enjoyed by that film, the target audience and the OTT platform's own estimation of its reach. Streaming platforms also get to watch a showreel of the film for business purposes."

'The Raja Saab' is a romantic horror-comedy with never-seen-before visuals.
