Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, Thunderbolts is the 36th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film hit the cinemas on May 2nd.
The news is that its OTT release date for the Indian audience is official. It will debut on JioHotstar on August 27.
Starring Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, Lewis Pullman, Geraldine Viswanathan, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, the film was initially praised as the best MCU movie in years. Its first test screenings were held in November 2024. After mixed feedback from the alpha audience, reshoots were held.
The film's worldwide box office total is reported to be around $382.4 million. This places it among the lowest-grossing films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, just above The Marvels and The Incredible Hulk. With a reported production budget of $180 million and an additional $100 million for marketing, the film struggled to recoup its costs. Thunderbolts was a flop.
