Since Happy Days, actor Varun Sandesh has undergone a makeover of sorts. Known also for the teen love story Kotha Bangaru Lokam and the crime comedy D for Dopidi, the actor donned a negative role in Sundeep Kishan's Michael in 2023.
Varun Sandesh will now be portraying a "darker, more psychologically complex" role in Nayanam, his web debut. Swathi Prakash is wielding the megaphone in this "edge-of-the-seat" psychological thriller. The ZEE5 original will premiere from December 19th.
"The line between truth and obsession blurs dangerously," the makers stated, teasing the dark content of the series, which runs into six episodes. The Tollywood actor feels that the OTT space offers actors the freedom to experiment and push the envelope.
Also starring Priyanka Jain, Ali Reza (Bigg Boss Telugu fame), and Uttej, Nayanam is produced by SRT Entertainments' Ram Talluri. Varun Sandesh plays a doctor named Nayan.
