Tamannaah Bhatia and Kajal Aggarwal are reportedly going to be questioned by the Tamil Nadu police in connection with a cryptocurrency scam. The date of the questioning is yet to be known.
As per media reports, a shady company launched a cryptocurrency scheme three years back. Many individuals from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry lost precious sums of money owing to the scheme.
Allegedly, Tamannaah and Kajal graced two separate events hosted by the company. Since their physical presence at the company's events has been proven by records, the two actresses will be questioned separately. They are said to have merely endorsed the company, and have nothing to do with what transpired later on.

In October last year, a celebrity appearance made by Tamannaah in 2023 landed her in trouble. The Enforcement Directorate questioned her in connection with a money laundering investigation involving a mobile app named 'HPZ Token'. Several investors (predominantly from the state of Assam) were allegedly cheated by the app, which promised the mining of cryptocurrencies. In April last year, Tamannah was summoned for questioning by authorities after she faced allegations of promoting the viewing of IPL matches on an illegal betting app, which was not entitled to telecast the matches in the first place. Since the telecast was not authorized, Viacom 18, the owner of exclusive streaming rights, had lodged a complaint.
