SS Rajamouli's speech at the trailer launch event of Game Changer showcased to a whole new generation what a supremely unique filmmaker Shankar truly is. He described Shankar as the OG for all (commercial) filmmakers. "We not only admire him but also respect him a great deal," the RRR maker said.
The Baahubali maker continued to shower praises on Shankar. "We are making pan-Indian big-budget movies only lately. But long before this happened, Shankar garu set new benchmarks in terms of making everyone believe that spectacle movies have a vast market. Although Game Changer is formally Shankar garu's first straight Telugu film, it doesn't feel like it is his first. For the Telugu people, he is more a Telugu filmmaker than a Tamil one. His Oke Okkadu is one of my most favourite films. The scene where a physically disabled youngster urges the protagonist to join politics had my tears well up. I hope Game Changer is going to be ten times more effective," Rajamouli said.
