Deepika Padukone, earlier this month, stated that raising her daughter Dua personally is her top-most priority. She hinted that she would return to work much later because she doesn't want a nanny to raise her kid. In other words, Deepika wants to take care of her daughter first and postpone her film commitments to a future date.
However, the makers of Kalki 2898 AD may just have hinted that Deepika will shoot for the movie's sequel (at least for some days) sooner than later. Wishing the Bollywood superstar on her birthday, Vyjayanthi Movies wrote, "Wishing our Sum-80, the beautiful 'Deepika Padukone', a very happy birthday. You've truly brought magic to #Kalki2898AD. May your year be as amazing as you are! See you on the sets very soon."
The last few words about seeing Deepika on the sets might just be a formality. Or, maybe, the makers have something concrete in mind.
The production timelines of Kalki 2 have been hazy. At first, producer Aswini Dutt hinted that the film will be released in 2026. Later, his daughter Swapna Dutt said that the film will be released in 2028. If it is a 2028 release, Prabhas will complete all his current assignments.
