Brahmanandam talks about his son Raja Goutham's biggest blunder

Despite being the son of a legendary artist, Raja Goutham could barely capitalize on his background. Quite early on in his career, Raja Goutham committed a blunder that continues to haunt him to this day.

Talking about it, his father Brahmanandam said, "Back in the day, Sekhar Kammula offered him the male lead role in Godavari (which was later bagged by Sumanth). But Goutham declined the offer because he felt the script was female-oriented. Does it make any sense?"

Raja Goutham kicked out a sensible film that might have fuelled his rise in the film industry. It is true that Sumanth delivered flops after Godavari but if he is familiar to many audiences today, it is because of that film and that film alone. A budding actor needs a box office hit or an acclaimed movie at the very least. Godavari would have been such a film for Brahmanandam's son.

Brahmi and Raja Goutham await the release of their film, Brahma Anandam, on February 14.
