The Raja Saab was aiming for an April 2025 release. Its inevitable postponement from Summer became evident to producer TG Vishwa Prasad at least eight months before the due date. And the culprit was the total mess-up on the VFX front.
In a recent interview with NTV, the producer revealed that a prominent VFX supervisor who was entrusted with the work was totally absent from work for several months. He drew salaries of himself and his entourage but didn't complete any work. On top of it, he even threatened director Maruthi that he will exit from the project midway if he was pressured to complete his job.
Maruthi and Vishwa Prasad eventually asked him to leave the project. A new supervisor was enlisted.
The Raja Saab is now scheduled to hit the cinemas on 9 January 2026.
