In a shocking casting twist, Kalki 2 won't feature Deepika Padukone. The Bollywood superstar, who anchored the story of Kalki 2898 AD, has been asked to opt out of its sequel. She is apparently unable or unwilling to meet the requirements of director Nag Ashwin.
"This is to officially announce that Deepika Padukone will not be a part of the upcoming sequel of Kalki 2898 AD. After careful consideration, We have decided to part ways. Despite the long journey of making the first film, we were unable to find a partnership. And a film like ours deserves that commitment and much more. We wish her the best with her future works," Vyjayanthi Movies stated today.
This is the second big movie that Deepika Padukone has been sacked from. Earlier, Sandeep Reddy Vanga replaced her in Spirit with Triptii Dimri.
