From Calm to Cataclysm: Why the OG Trailer is a Masterclass in Hype

That They Call Him OG is an epic-scale gangster action drama is evident from the way the Trailer, released a while ago, takes off. From Prakash Raj's Satya Dada to the destructive gun fights, from the involvement of a vengeful police department to other tropes associated with high-profile gangster dramas, director Sujeeth sets it up expertly.

The build-up to Pawan Kalyan's introduction is insuperable. When he makes an entry, the mood is relatively calm compared to the thunderous way in which he mouths his character's name at the end.

The world-building is another aspect in which the film seems to be sincere. The period film is not entirely old-world, nor is it a true-blue contemporary one. That gives rise to the kind of production design (by AS Prakash) that is detailed and atypical.

More than the action choreography, it seems that Thaman's new-age background score is what will be elevating the gangster drama to a higher level.

Emraan Hashmi's villainy and how violent his clash is with the hero will determine the arc of the story. Sriya Reddy, Subhaleka Sudhakar and others are part of the cast.

OG is director Sujeeth's fan service film as much as it is a big-screen experience for the general audience. This September 25, we might be watching the best action film in Pawan Kalyan's career.
