It's known that AR Rahman has been trolled by online BJP supporters for hinting that India's political mood has changed for the worse in recent years. On Thursday, Tamil Nadu BJP leader K. Annamalai distanced his party from the ongoing controversy, which has assumed a more substantial seriousness in some Tamil political circles.
Annamalai described ARR as a musical genius who takes pride in speaking Tamil. "I do not agree with selectively picking and criticising some of his remarks. Everyone has the freedom to express their views. A.R. Rahman also composes music for films based on the Ramayana. His view is that cinema has changed over the past ten years. I am a fan of A.R. Rahman. How can everyone oppose a person for expressing an opinion? After he clarified his stance, I consider the issue closed," he told ANI.
AR Rahman is currently working on Ram Charan's Peddi and a few other movies.
