The audio of Surya and Samantha starrer ‘Sikandar’ was launched at Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad on Thursday. The film is made under the banner ‘Sri Rama Lakshmi Creations’ which is jointly presented by Tirupathi Brothers and directed by N Linguswami. Lagadapati Sridhar is the producer. The audio was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Akkineni Nagarjuna has launched the audio CDs and handed over the first CD to star director SS Rajamouli. Theatrical trailer was launched by Rajamouli, Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Minister Kamineni Srinivas Rao.
Speaking at the audio function, Akkineni Nagarjuna said, “I am really proud of Telugu audience who has received director Linguswami and hero Surya. Samantha is on a success streak. I have seen all films directed by Linguswami. Prominently I liked the ‘Vettai’ of this talented director. We have remade the film as ‘Tadaka’ in Telugu. I too wanted to work in his direction. Surya is not just a good hero, he is also a good human being who always stands first to help others. I wish that ‘Sikandar’ will be a big hit.”
SS Rajamouli expressed his views saying, “I have seen the trailer. BANG…BANG…BANG…It was fantastic. I thought of praising Surya for his style but after seeing the trailer I wanted to praise Linguswami. Surya characterization has shades of both class and mass. Surya is wowing the audience with different getups. He is promoting himself very well in Telugu Industry. Though he is a Tamil hero, Telugu audience are treating him as a local hero. He will put in lot of efforts and there is a lot to learn from him. Samantha is looking very beautiful. BANG…BANG…BANG…song is superb. We are awaiting film’s release.”
Hero Surya said, “We have to learn from Nagarjuna how to be humble and happy. The same applies to Linguswami even. The biggest mistake I did in my life was to miss the opportunity to work with Rajamouli. I would like to apologize to him. If I get the opportunity again, I will not miss it. I am ready to do if there is a single take in ‘Baahubali’. I am speechless with the affection shown on me by the Telugu audience. With the success of each film, my responsibility as an actor is increasing. I always wanted to work with Linguswami. But, it happened only after 12 years. Now, I am happy that I have worked with him. It was nice working with Samantha, Vidhyath, Manoj Bajpai and Yuvan. It is a wonderful team. Yuvan Shankar’s music and Santhosh Sivan camera handling will be big plus to the film. For the first time I am doing in stylish entertainer. Everyone will like ‘Sikandar’.”
“It was nice working with Linguswami and Surya. After completing all formalities we are planning to release the film on 15th of August,” informed Lagadapati Sridhar.
Director N Linguswami said, “I have seen ‘Shiva’ when I was in college. Nagarjuna still wear the same look. With the inspiration of ‘Shiva’ I have made ‘Run’. I have seen all the films of Rajamouli on the first day itself. I wanted to do at least a single take with Anushka in ‘Baahubali’. ‘Sikandar’ is the huge budget film in my career. Surya characterization has shades of both class and mass. Santhosh Sivan has done a magic with his camera work. The film came out very well. Samantha’s acting skills has taken the film to the next level. She is sincere and golden heroine. Yuvan’s music is excellent. I am sure everyone will like the film.”
Heroine Samantha said, “’Sikandar’ was made in keeping with the Telugu audience taste in the mind. I don’t know whether it works in Tamil, but I am sure that the film is going to be a big success is Telugu. All the best to the team and I wish and hope that the film will be a big hit.”
