The Jubilee Hills police have reportedly registered cases against Amitov Teja, son of Tollywood film director Teja. He has been named in charges concerning criminal intimidation, extortion, kidnapping, illegal confinement, and obscene behavior toward a woman.
Last year, a young man named Praneeth became acquainted with Amitov Teja in connection with credit card applications. Within a short time, Amitov Teja, Praneeth, and Praneeth’s wife Anusha jointly opened a share market account and began trading. As per the police complaint, the trio incurred a loss of Rs 11 lakh in share market trading. It is alleged that on May 4, 2025, Praneeth was illegally confined and forced to sign blank papers, cheques, and property documents, following which cases were registered.
Earlier this month, a news daily reported that Amitov believes he had lost Rs 63 lakh to a stock trading scam pulled on him by the Praneeth-Anusha duo. "After repeated attempts to get his money back failed, he approached the police seeking legal action," Deccan Chronicle reported at that time.
Amitov Teja is a debutant hero. His debut movie co-stars Bharati Ghattamaneni, daughter of the late Ramesh Babu and niece of superstar Mahesh Babu, as the heroine.
