Gantala Bandi goes to International Children’s Film Festival

Telugu movie ‘Gantala Bandi’ which was directed by Rukmini Krishna and produced by Machiraju Sai Prasad and C Ananth was selected for the International Children’s Film Festival to be held on November 14th in Hyderabad on the eve of Children’s Day. The film was presented by C Ramachandra Rao. Music for ‘Gantala Bandi’ was rendered by K M Radha Krishnan of ‘Anand’ and ‘Chandamama’ fame.

The producers expressed their joy for their movie ‘Gantala Bandi’ being selected in children world category in International Film Festival. They thanked the entire team of ‘Gantala Bandi’ for their hard work to make the film on par with international standards.

The story of the film is based on the camel cart which is the main transport for commuting for the people in a remote village called Narayanapuram. The people of this village have no education and medical facilities in the village and hence have to travel 40 kms to reach the town for these facilities. They have only one means of transport and that is ‘Gantala Bandi’ (camel cart). But the main problem is since the Gantala Bandi goes slow, one cannot predict whether the patient will be alive by the time the cart reaches the hospital. However three children try to solve this problem which is the main plot of this story.

Pavani, Vishnu, Vijay, Sakthi and Durga are the five child artists while Ram Hagan, Jandhyala Ramakrishna, Srilakshmi, Praveen Chandra and Prabhavathy are the other artists in the film.
