Lover boy Uday Kiran passed away on Sunday night (January 5, 2014) at 12.15 PM at his residence in Hyderabad by committing suicide. The post-mortem formalities were completed this evening and the body was sent to AP Film Chamber office after his sister Sridevi and brother-in-law along with Uday Kiran’s father visited the hospital after arriving Hyderabad from Muscat. Although his fans thronged NIMS hospital much before the postmortem got completed, they were adviced to take the last glimpse of their matinee idol at Film Chamber office from 10 AM to 11.45 AM on January 7th after which the body will be taken for cremation at ESI crematorium at Erragadda.
So far the real cause of Uday Kiran’s death is unknown, though several stories are heard like lack of film opportunities, his mother’s death, his father’s second marriage, financial problems, etc. Uday Kiran’s father himself admitted that he and Uday did not speak to each other for about six years and that he doesn’t know anything about his own son’s whereabouts. Therefore the police seized his cell phone and laptop for investigation. A case of suspicious death has been registered for further investigation.
Several film personalities (some who worked with Uday and who were his close associates) like Dasari Narayana Rao, Teja, R P Patnaik, Nannapaneni Rajakumari, Srikanth, Tarun, Shivaji Raja, Sivakumar, Pavala Shyamala, Duvvasi Mohan, M S Raju, Murali Mohan mourned his death. His wife Visheeta, who received his last SMS as ‘I Love You Too!’ was inconsolable.
