'Lata Bhagwan Kare' to be made as a pan-India flick

'Lata Bhagwan Kare', the Marathi film, was released in theatres in 2020. Naveen Deshaboina, whose origins are Telugu, helmed the film. Based on the life of Lata Bhagwan Kare, who participated in a marathon at the age of 65 for her husband's medical treatment, the critically-acclaimed breakout film went on to win the National Film Award – Special Mention at the 67th National Film Awards. Deshaboina also won the Best Debut Director award at the Filmfare Marathi Awards this year.

Producer Arrabothu Krishna today held an event in Hyderabad to celebrate the movie's phenomenal feats. The makers planning to remake 'Lata Bhagawan Kare' in South Indian languages and Hindi.

Speaking at the event, MLA Subhash Reddy said that youngsters should watch message-oriented movies of this sort. He praised the talent of the director and also the grit of the producer on the occasion.

Kancharla Chandrasekhar Reddy said, "The story of the film is quite inspiring. It feels great that a movie made by a Telugu man has acquired national fame."

Producers Council's Chairman T Prasanna Kumar hoped that films like 'Lata' are made in Telugu as well.

Director Deshaboina said that a lot of Telugus have been supporting him. He revealed that he is planning to direct a movie based on a novel concept. It will be announced soon.

Producer Krishna said that 'Lata' will be remade in all major South Indian languages and Hindi with the same artists who were seen in the Marathi original.
