Chiranjeevi gives too much hype to 'future superstar'

Megastar Chiranjeevi thinks Satyadev Kancharana is going to be a superstar in the future. There is little doubt that his words are a form of hyperbolic speech.

Satyadev, who plays a wily antagonist named Jaidev in 'GodFather', was showered with hyperbolic praises by Chiru at the film's pre-release event. Calling Satyadev a wonderful actor is one thing. But saying that he has the potential to become a superstar is a whole different thing.

Satyadev has headlined enough number of films for us to have a reasonable idea about his calibre. His best performance to date remains 'Uma Maheshwara Ugra Roopasya', which didn't have him in a typical hero's role. It was more a character rooted in the film's unique milieu.

He failed to create enthusiasm about his style through 'Godse' and 'Thimmarusu'. 'Bluff Master' is one film that comes closest to casting him as a commercial hero.

For someone to become a superstar, he has to do an action film and pull it off with swag. The kind of acting chops displayed thus far by Satyadev doesn't inspire one to say that he is action-hero material. His comic timing needs vast improvement. His dialogue delivery is more in the realm of a character artist's.

Above all, Tollywood has the most challenging standards these days, with established superstars like Prabhas and Allu Arjun, Jr NTR and Ram Charan raising the bar higher and higher. For now, even Vijay Deverakonda is better placed than Satyadev.

Verify with the average audience and chances are that they will disagree with Chiranjeevi's prediction. Rest, Time and Universe alone would know!
