Tollywood media shouldn't degrade Tollywood directors

This week, unverified media reports have said that Thalapathy Vijay is going to team up with Gopichand Malineni. After 'Krack' and 'Veera Simha Reddy', the director is in a semi-good form. 'Krack' was a cracker of an entertainer, while Balakrishna's Sankranthi release was middling.

A section of the Tollywood media is of the view that Thalapathy Vijay shouldn't work with Malineni at a time when he is working with 'Vikram' director Lokesh Kanagaraj. 'Leo' is the title of their film. If 'Leo' becomes a blockbuster, Malineni will look like a poor choice made by Vijay, critics are arguing.

But this is a mindless attempt to tarnish the reputation of Tollywood directors without understanding the broader picture. Agreed that Malineni is inferior to Kanagaraj, but he is definitely a worthy director in his own right. It's not like the likes of Rajkumar Hirani and Shankar want to work with Vijay. The Tamil superstar has made many terrible choices. 'Beast' is an example. Who knows, Malineni might just deliver a hit for him in 2024!
